Rory MacDonald and Robbie Lawler's Perfect Situation

Rory MacDonald-Robbie Lawler perfect co-main event at UFC 189
By Daniel Austin, Calgary Sun
By all accounts, the UFC has spent more money promoting UFC 189 than any other event in its history.

There’s been an international press tour, a series of jaw-dropping commercials and more photo-ops than fight fans can shake a stick at.

Your average sports fan no doubt knows all about featherweight champion Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, as their faces have been omnipresent throughout the months-long promotional push.

Those same fans might be forgiven if they didn’t realize there was a second championship fight on the UFC 189 card.

For Rory MacDonald -- who’ll challenge Robbie Lawler for the welterweight title on July 11 in Las Vegas -- it’s hard to imagine a better situation.
