Newcomer Meunier Debuts against Covington in Ottawa

With Alex Garcia forced to withdraw from his June 18 bout against Colby Covington, fellow Canadian Jonathan Meunier has agreed to step in for the UFC Fight Night bout at TD Place Arena in Ottawa.

Making his UFC debut after putting together a perfect 7-0 record on the local circuit, the 28-year-old Meunier will represent Quebec City and his Tristar team in the Octagon against the hard-charging Covington in what promises to be an explosive matchup.

Fight Night Ottawa is headlined by a five-round bout between top welterweight contenders Rory MacDonald and Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson. FOX Sports 1 will televise the card.
