Jones: I'll fight Cormier at UFC 200

Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been in a giving mood lately.

Jones, the pound-for-pound No. 1-ranked fighter in the UFC, spoke to media members at Wednesday’s UFC 197 Open Workouts ahead of his interim title fight against Ovince Saint Preux on Saturday. “Bones” is fighting OSP on three weeks’ notice after his original opponent, Daniel Cormier, was forced to pull out of the fight with an injury.

It’s been documented that Jones and his Team Jackson/Winklejohn coaches aren’t too keen on taking short-notice fights. But Jones feels he owes it to his fans and the UFC.

Jones took things one step further and said he would be willing to turn around and fight again, preferably against rival Cormier, in three months in the main event of UFC 200. He also spoke about his feelings toward Cormier, some of which may be surprising.
