Brown started slow and became noticeably more comfortable in rounds two and three, earning a unanimous decision win over Matt Dwyer.

Don’t attribute his slow start to nerves, though. Brown doesn’t have any.

"Rudeboy" says he never feels pressure. Even when tasked with following up Sage Northcutt’s stardom as the second prospect to come out of the UFC original series “Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight," Brown is a cool character.

“It comes from being under pressure my entire life. I’ve seen so much in life, this is small compared to a lot of things I’ve been through,” Brown said.

Brown is comfortable in the role he’s in and has accepted the challenge of facing formidable opponents in the early stages of his UFC career. First, with Dwyer, and now against Michael Graves at Fight Night Tampa on Saturday.

Graves is a fierce wrestler out of American Top Team who competed onn Season 21 of The Ultimate Fighter.

Graves even claims in his official UFC bio that his last job before fighting was “professional wrestling.” It’s another test for Brown, as the strength of his game is the stand-up.

“I think the UFC sees my ability and they’re confident in me,” Brown said. “They want to test me first before they get behind me and are making me pay my dues. I don’t mind it.”

Brown has been working on his grappling and has became so comfortable in it that he says it’s allowed him to go back and improve his stand-up even more.

To combat Graves’ wrestling, Brown will need to implement all the tools in his stand-up bag if he wants to deliver on his promise.
