Yoel RomeroTRAINING: Our training is always different. My coach keeps the same method used by the Cuban National team. It is what I have been doing all my life and it has given me great results. We are just adding the new aspects of MMA, but for the most part it is the same style of training.
When and why did you start training for fighting? Three years ago What ranks and titles have you held? I have had almost every medal in every wrestling tournament I ever entered, from World championships to Olympic games; also Pan Am championships, World cups, and many, many other international wrestling tournaments and invitationals. Won Silver medal in freestyle wrestling in the 2000 Olympics Do you have any heroes? Jesus Christ. What does it mean for you to fight in STRIKEFORCE? Is a very big step in my sports career, also a great start to a better life to my family. Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Bachelor degree in Sports science What was your job before you started fighting? Just wrestling in the German league. Ranks in any martial arts styles: None, but I will become a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Black belt. Favorite grappling technique: I love them all - I love Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Favorite Striking technique: All of them.
