Biography
When and why did you start training for fighting? Three years ago. I started fighting because I thought it was cool and I knew it was something I could do well.
What ranks and titles have you held? None at the moment
Do you have any heroes? I wouldn't say "hero," but Anderson Silva is the one who got me into the sport and made me want to pursue a career in fighting. Silva is the type of fighter and athlete I work hard to be like; I want every fight to be a show, every technique a potential finisher.
What does it mean for you to fight in STRIKEFORCE? It means EVERYTHING! It's big for me and my career, and it means all my hard work is paying off and now I get my first chance to show my skills on one of the world’s biggest stages. I cannot thank STRIKEFORCE, my trainers and teammates at The Fight Firm, my managers at The Combat Sports Agency, and my friends and family enough. STRIKEFORCE is giving me an opportunity to live my dream!
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I didn't go to college; I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a world class MMA fighter, but I am planning on going to school for culinary arts very soon.
What was your job before you started fighting? I was an associate at Wal-Mart.
Specific accomplishments in pro competition? I've finished all of my victories. Like I said, I want every fight to be a show.
Favorite grappling technique: The cross face
Favorite Striking technique: Flying knee
What do you consider to be the key fight in your career, and why? My 4th amateur fight against Josh Duggins at "Operation Combat". I lost by TKO. That fight woke me up and taught me that you have to train hard no matter who your opponent is.
