TRAINING: I work out about 5 1/2 hours every day. This includes the usual... grappling, sparring, cardio, and weight lifting. I've been able to take time off from being a police officer to train a lot more. I wasn't able to do that for my last fight.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I was a huge fan of the UFC. So when the chance to fight came along I was all about it. I’ve been training in martial arts since I was 14 years old.
What ranks and titles have you held? I’m a blue belt under Relson Gracie right now. Lightweight Gladiators Fighting Champion. I’m also the current NAAFS Featherweight Champion.
Do you have any heroes? Anyone and everyone who has served our country.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means everything to me at this point in my career. I feel I deserve the opportunity to tangle with some of the best fighters in the world.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I have my associates in Criminal Justice and I’m currently a police officer for the village of Madison.
What was your job before you started fighting? Well, I started fighting shortly after I got out of high school. I worked at a factory as a material handler.
Favorite grappling technique: I love the kimura.
Favorite Striking technique: I would have to say knees.
