Biography
TRAINING: A typical day of training is a 9am morning workout, either striking or grappling, depending on the day. A team practice is at 3pm everyday for sparring and I have 7pm evening conditioning at a fitness club.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I got into MMA at age 14 when a friend in the neighborhood introduced me and my brother to it because he basically wanted some punching bags.
What ranks and titles have you held? MFC welterweight champ. FCFF middleweight champ. BJJ purple belt under Fabiano Scherner.
Do you have any heroes? My parents
What does it mean for you to fight in STRIKEFORCE? An opportunity to better my life and get national attention.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Southern Illinois University Edwardsville but did not graduate.
What was your job before you started fighting? Various jobs in construction
Favorite grappling technique: Reverse omoplata
Favorite Striking technique: Jab!
What do you consider to be the key fight in your career, and why? Lyle Beerbohm, because it was a big win in Strikeforce, and I have beat many top welterweights such as Carlos Condit, Paul Daley, Dan Hardy, among others, but no one seems to care.
