TRAINING: A typical day of my training generally starts off with a cardio session to wake the body up. From there, I move on to a technical training session - wrestling , kickboxing , Jiu-Jitsu, etc. I rest a few hours and add another technical session in the evening. Hard sparring is done once a week.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I’ve been a long time family friend of the Gracie family, and have been training for MMA since 2005
What ranks and titles have you held? 2007 Pan American jiu-jitsu champion. Two-time American national jiu-jitsu champ. 2005 second place world jiu-jitsu championship. Third place 2011 world no gi championship.
Do you have any heroes? My Mother
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It is a great honor and life achievement to reach the pinnacle of combat sports.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Junior college no degree
What was your job before you started fighting? Jiu-Jitsu instructor
