Biography

TRAINING: Twice a day from Monday thru Friday, first training session around 10 am, have lunch after and a nap, walk the dog and train again around 6 pm.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training in my hometown, where I was discovered by someone while I was playing handball at school. The guy invited me for a class at Chute Boxe and I was hooked right away after the first time I trained.

What ranks and titles have you held? Strikeforce 145-pound champion, 3rd place ADCC 2009 in Barcelona and 1st place Mundial BJJ 2011 in Long Beach, CA.

Do you have any heroes?
God

What does it mean for you to fight in STRIKEFORCE?
It’s the greatest opportunity ever in my life, to do what I love the most and to be part of female MMA history, not only as a spectator but as an inspiration for the future female fighters to come.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn?
I dropped my college studies in Physical conditioning after the second year to have more time for training

What was your job before you started fighting? I was an athlete playing handball and going to school

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition?
Two first place finishes - one in an important handball tournament and one in Track and Field

Favorite grappling technique: Using my technique to find a little tiny space where I can punch. (Laughs)

Favorite Striking technique:
Punches... all kinds, and the harder I can punch, the better.
